We are Cheryl and Gary Tull. We were born and raised on Smith Island.
I learned to bake the 10-layer chocolate cake from my grand cousin Frances Kitching.
Our specialty is Maryland’s state dessert, a moist homemade cake with 10 ultra-thin, individually baked layers carefully stacked and frosted.
Most every Friday night both my mother and my grandmother would make a famous Smith Island layer cake. Now I’m baking them for you!
